La principal lucha de la Unión Nacional de Organizaciones Regionales Campesinas Autónomas de México (UNORCA) es recuperar el tejido campesino y rural de un país cuyo campo ha sido devastado por los agronegocios y los tratados comerciales.
Así lo afirmó Olegario Carrillo Mesa, representante de la UNORCA, en el Foro Soberanía Alimentaria de los Pueblos ¡Ya! que finalizará el 18 de noviembre en Roma, con una serie de demandas a la institución internacional sobre Alimentación y Agricultura, la FAO.
El Foro mostró el carácter inclusivo y amplio de la lucha por la soberanía alimentaria. De hecho, en él participaron unas 140 personas de las más diversas organizaciones, procedentes de los cinco continentes.
“El paradigma de la Soberanía Alimentaria tiene la capacidad de incluir movimientos extremadamente diversos: organizaciones de campesinos, de consumidores, de mujeres rurales, de pastores, de pescadores, de jóvenes rurales y organizaciones de desarrollo”, afirmó Nicholson, definiendo esto como una “biodiversidad de alianzas”.
Sin embargo, a pesar de las enormes dificultades de la construcción de alianzas y de las luchas campesinas en América Latina y en el mundo, Olegario confía en el éxito de las luchas, porque “no se trata de quejarse, sino de actuar”.
